Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society

The Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum has become one of Michigan’s most popular destinations in the cultural tourism industry, attracting nearly 100,000 visitors each season. Museum patrons learn about the perils of maritime transport on the Great Lakes at the Whitefish Point Light Station, an historic site on the National Register of Historic Places.

Lightkeeper’s House Museum

Old Post Office Museum

The fascinating history of Grand Marais is on display, from the earliest peoples to the present day. A beautiful memorial rose garden is at the rear of the museum overlooking the water. Pickle Barrel House Museum

Possibly Michigan’s most unique house! This 16-foot high barrel has been restored to its condition as a cottage, built for author/illustrator William Donahey who created the famout Teenie Weenie characters.
