The Burt Township Harbor Committee announces the launch of their new website - SaveYourHarbor.com
After many months of research, design, and hard work, the Harbor Committee has completed a new DVD on the state of your "Harbor of Refuge" and the new website, SaveYourHarbor.com. Many of the DVD's have been mailed to government and other agencies in an effort to educate the powers that be of the dire state of our harbor and community and to implore them to act swiftly to fund the construction of a new breakwall at Grand Marais. 4-H Rallies Grand Marais
So, what is 4-H? This is a huge question that is not easily answered in a short article. Briefly, it is a youth organization open to all five to 19 year olds. It is run by caring adult and teen volunteers in local clubs who are supported by county and state 4-H staff. It is youth doing "hands-on" projects for learning and fun! There are over 170 project areas in which 4-H clubs can participate; ranging from cooking to rocketry, from cave exploration to crafts. There is something for everyone! 4-H also provides adult volunteers with curriculum on any of these topics, so there is no pressure to know a great deal about these project areas.
If you are a parent who would love to see your child(ren) involved in our program or a caring adult who would love to share your talents with kids, we would love to see you at the 4-H Rally. It is to be held in the Burt Township School gymnasium on Saturday, December 8th, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. Come learn more about the Alger County 4-H program, try some fun group activities, look through some curriculum and meet the Alger County 4-H Educator, Liana Graves. Refreshments will be provided.
Come Explore, Experience and Achieve with 4-H!
