A number of public boat ramps are available within a few miles of Grand Marais. Boat ramps can be found at: Nawakwa Lake (10 miles south); Sable Lake (4 miles west); Kingston Lake (15 miles west); the Blind Sucker Flooding (8 miles east); Snyder Lake (15 miles south) and others. Check the Michigan DNR site for a complete listing. You can search for public boat launches within a radius of Grand Marais.
There are several canoe and kayak rental facilities in the Grand Marais area. All are located within easy driving distance for a day trip. Please contact them individually for their rental rates and packages.

The Tahqua Trekker, a Trailspotters of Michigan subsidiary, will have 7 day a week service between Grand Marais and Munising. 2 runs daily, service continuing to Tahquamenon. Check their Master Schedule.
