The Blue Heron derived its name from a sighting near the home on a foggy evening. The stately posture of this magnificent bird has always fascinated me and been the subject of several of my paintings.

This lovely home will capture your heart and add to your experience exploring the nature's abundance that is the Upper Peninsula. Whether you come to relax or take advantage of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore with its scenic hiking, historic Lighthouses, early history of Grand Marais, walking the pristine beaches of Lake Superior. It is located near ATV, Snowmobile trails and fishing areas.

The look is clean and crisp yet captures the essence of the area. We look forward to your stay with us. The Blue Heron has all the amenities of home:

• Satellite TV
• Full bright kitchen with a work table space and stools
• 2 large bedrooms
• One with a Double bed located in a Gazebo style room with surrounding windows
• One with a Queen bed overlooking the wooded area in the rear
• Small washer/dryer access to clothes line as well
• Fire pit on front patio
• Full bathroom
• Two double size futons for extra guests. (sleeps 6 comfortably)

The Blue Heron is located close to Grand Marais (3 miles) and the entrance to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore -- a wonderful location near ATV, Snowmobile trails, hiking, and beautiful beaches.

Minimum stay is 3 nights. A cleaning charge is applied for less than a week's stay.

Welcome to Woodland Birches

Woodland Birches derived its name from its location nestled amongst the beautiful birch trees. It is located only 3 miles from the town of Grand Marais on HWY M-77 (N13015). Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is easily accessible for magnificent scenery, hiking, and area snowmobiling as well as ATV trails.

Woodland Birches could be described as a Northern Country Home -- fully furnished awaiting your arrival. The living room has a high ceiling with rafters, knotty pine walls, a gas fireplace, two large door walls that look out onto the surrounding wooded area. A screened in porch allows you to drink that extra cup of coffee overlooking the wooded area.

• A large Bedroom with a skylight, queen bed, and a twin bed
• sofa bed available in the main room
• Satellite TV, VCR, DVD in the Living room area
• Air conditioning
• Full kitchen and Bath
• Large patio with Grill, Fire pit and picnic table
• Near snowmobile and ATV trails
• Will sleep 5 using sofa bed in the living room area
