• As you read through this web page, please bear in your mind , that this story revolves about a Catholic priest and a very small Upper Peninsula town. Grand Marais is home to fewer then 500 people year round. That fact makes this story even larger then life. The fact that the idea was hatched at his , Fr. Joe's , going away party and the way the whole town and surrounding churches came together to make this Mission a reality is the story.
  Even today this mission needs continued help. Fr. Joe has and is still doing GODS work with out help from his church.
