Father Joe, who served as Catholic Priest in Grand
Marais, MI 6 years ago, still needs our help in the continued
development of his Mission School in N. India. He, with our
help, has taken an area that had no school for the poor children,
and built a school, dormitory, brick by hand made brick, for
over 900 children. He also provides housing (room and board)
for almost 60 children seven days a week. Twenty of these children
are of special needs. We in Grand Marais are very proud of his
accomplishments, and help reward him through our many thoughtful
remembrances of him and his work, done here in town with our
children.
It’s not often that we get to see the honest results,
and we offer a grand THANKS for all your help. I’d like
to keep that help going for those children there or any other
place that Fr. Joe goes.
We just recently received a letter from the Father, thanking
us for our last check, and stating that with that check received,
he plans on buying winter cloths for the children in the name
of the Grand Marais people. A grand jester on his part, but
not needed for us. Just the idea of his Mission moving forward
with our help is reward enough for us. If not, you’re
on the wrong web page. Also, just disclosed to us was that
his Church has removed his Assistant Pastor, leaving him with
only six (6) Sisters to assist running the classrooms. Lets
see, seven (7) teachers and 900 students gives us a ratio
of student to teacher of 128.57 1/7. That’s a big load!
I wonder how our teachers here in the States would handle
that ratio? GOD BLESS them for their work. To quote my Pastor,”
the Good LORD will fill your plate full and then place more
on it. And it will get done.” To answer the call really
is a blessing, for you always seem to get done what the LORD
hands you. Father Joe is a prime example of just that. So
if you’d like, he still needs our help.
These funds have no administration cost or accounting cost.
We try to keep every thing in the publics view. Our local
bank will give a daily balance to all inquiries, and I publish
a summary of the past years activity in the paper and post
it also in public areas. If you wish to make a donation, please
do so. Send all donations to:
