Welcome to The Marketplace, our Grand Marais artists' cooperative. The Market Place was formed 30 years ago to provide local artists and craftsmen a place to display and sell their work. It is a "not for profit" incorporation where members share the shop time, tasks, and work together throughout the summer. In the Market Place you will find unique pieces of art, one of a kind , locally crafted with care items including scarves, hats, quilts, weaving, jewelry and paintings.  We're open daily during the summer months. We accept Visa and MasterCard.

The Cooperative is housed in a historic building , originally housing Teeter's Variety Store. It became a Barber shop when the Bennett Family purchased the property.

For more information, contact us via phone or email us at ceweston@msn.com. Stop in and see us on your next visit to Grand Marais!

"When you buy something from an artist
You are buying more than an object.
You're buying hundreds of hours of frustration and moments of pure joy.
You're not buying just one thing.
You are buying a piece of a Heart
a piece of a soul
a small piece of
someone else's life."
