Historic Grand Marais

Grand Marais in 1906 was a town dependent on the lumber and fishing industries.
This view looking east over the town shows Grand Marais Bay beyond
the buildings, and Lonesome Point on the horizon.  Many of these houses were
brought up from Seney, 25 miles to the south, when the lumber boom
played out there and moved north to Grand Marais.
